A Room Full of Books

Am I crazy or was last week "can't stop to take a breath" crazy? Everyone I've talked to has been telling me about how hectic their week was. I was a bundle of stress between late nights at work and getting ready to move and didn't have time to sit down and blog. So, it's time for a little catch-up, yeah?
You know the scene in Beauty in the Beast when Belle goes into her local book shop and is pretty much dancing around and freaking out about being surrounded by so many books? That may or may not be me (it totally is). A friend told me that I should check out the Chicago Library and I was out the door before finishing reading the message.

Personally, I'm a big fan of open, vast libraries full of dark wood and low lighting. The Chicago Library is nothing like that. It's full of light wood, fluorescent lights, white marble and each section is on it's own floor. If you love books, it's worth a look but it wasn't my taste.
The best part though is their Winter Garden room on the top floor. It's full of natural light and has a bunch of spots to study, read, or just unwind.

I was a little bummed visiting the library. Any one have a good one I should check out?

Rome! By all means, Rome

Have you ever loved something so much that being away from it hurts your heart a bit? That's how I feel about Rome. I lived there for three amazing months in 2011 and every year near the end of September, I think about how, three years ago, I was boarding a plane to go to a place I dreamed about since I was a little girl. I've been pretty nostalgic for it lately so I thought I would share. You might want to grab a glass of wine for this one, it's pretty picture heavy.

"Rome! By all means, Rome. I will cherish my visit here in memory as long as I live." (Roman Holiday)
